On November 23rd the staff of Real Madrid had the opportunity to enjoy Simtechpro’s racing simulators thanks to Audi. The event consisted of a qualifying batch (3 rounds of 8 minutes) and the best 8 classifieds participated in a final race of 6 laps.
And why we found Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and the rest of the Real Madrid squad simracing?
Audi is one of the sponsors of Real Madrid, and wanted to offer a different experience to the staff on the day of the famous delivery of cars, an act of delivery that surely most of you have seen before on television or print. For a few seasons, AUDI has delivered to each of the players a German-branded car.
This time, and as usual in recent years, AUDI has wanted to surprise players with something different with the experience and quality of Simtechpro racing simulators.
This race has been played with 8 simulators SIMTECHPRO (model Simbase Motion), equipped with 3 screens of 27 «ceded by the brand BENQ, with steering wheel THRUSTAMSTER TS-PC RACER also ceded by the distributor of the brand in Spain, pedals HEUSINKVELD ceded by the Dutch manufacturer and topped with a customized AUDI backets for this event.
This race has been disputed with 8 Simtechpro racing simulators (model Simbase Motion), equipped with 3 screens of 27 «ceded by the brand BENQ, with THRUSTAMSTER TS-PC RACER steering wheels also ceded by the distributor of the brand in Spain, pedals HEUSINKVELD ceded by the Dutch manufacturer and topped with a customized AUDI backets for this event..
The virtual car with which the race was played was the virtual reproduction of the new car with which the brand will compete this 2018 in the FormulaE, and all this was developed on a circuit created especially for this event, a 2 kilometers long circuit, 20 meters wide to favour the overtakings, and with very fast curves to facilitate the conduction for «pilots» not used to do this type of races. All set in an E-Tron space, both in the decoration of the virtual circuit itself, and in the room itself where the event was unwrapped.
The qualifying laps served as a first contact for the «pilots» during the first minutes and to be able to push and look for a time in the last moments of the session, all of them backed by 8 of the best simracing spanish pilots as coachers. During these laps we could see the equality between the «pilots» and surprisingly a very good lap times if we compared them with the times that had made the coachers during the tests for the event.
And so we come to the grand final with the 8 best Cronos marked among the twenty players who participated in the experience, and with an exit grid formed by: Casemiro, Carvajal, Asensio, Luca Zidane, Nacho, Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Vallejo.
The winner of the race was finally Daniel Carvajal with a comfortable advantage of more than a second from the second and third ranked that were Captain Sergio Ramos and Marco Asensio respectively.
